A NET ZERO community! The first, but not the last.

Mission and Vision
Our mission for TCI Lane Ranch starts with creating the first NET ZERO community of its size, but does not stop there. The community is composed of 89 environment embracing homes, a 300-Kilowatt photovoltaic community solar farm and unparalleled beauty. This astounding community strives to create the new global standard for sustainability, healthy and energy efficiency throughout every aspect of a community. TCI Lane Ranch will be an environment that is both physically and mentally healthy, allowing residents and visitors to thrive in their passions. The TCI Lane Ranch community will adhere to the following Bonsai Communities design qualities: responsible, sustainable, durable, organic, inspiring, invigorating, practical, of high quality and value, efficient and unique. We envision our children growing up in a world full of real communities founded upon thoughtful human habitats that are scaled and tailored to their inhabitants and their environment, communities modeled after TCI Lane Ranch.

TCI Lane Ranch will incorporate deep green standards throughout and adhere to strict guidelines for each neighborhood’s energy efficient and healthy living model. This vision is unrivaled by any current neighborhood within the Roaring Fork Valley. TCI Lane Ranch has been carefully designed to be harmonious with its surrounding natural beauty, leveraging substantial open space, while providing a place where its inhabitants can live, play and relax, without leaving “home”. As such, the community will have its own internal amenities with a network of nature trails, cascading ponds, streams, wetlands, river access, community gardens, accessibility to mass transit and a pedestrian bridge across the Roaring Fork river, connecting to the Rio Grande bike path.

Deep Green Standards are planned, quantified and measured in practice. Specific areas of deep green focus include:

  • substantial reliance on onsite alternative energies
  • strong passive solar designs for natural heating and cooling
  • energy efficient building practices with well constructed, insulated and equipped homes and offices
  • resource efficiency with the use of considerably less water and the leveraging of sustainable materials
  • healthy living standards through superb indoor air quality, daylighting practices, CO2 offset programs and natural inclusion into the surrounding open space
Amenities

A high allowance of amenities will be incorporated throughout the community, including parks, open space, trails, water features, a pedestrian bridge, a community center, community gardens, and recycling and compost centers. Preservation of the existing landscape and canopy is accomplished through a 28 acre conservation easement and well planned home sites to compliment this beautiful property. Intensive landscaping and pedestrian amenities will permeate each area of the community.

Energy Strategy

TCI Lane Ranch will boast a 300-Kilowatt photovoltaic solar farm on site, which will provide 100% of the yearly power requirements of its 89 homes. This array represents the largest private solar array in the state of Colorado. All homes within the community will be built and measured to strict self-imposed energy efficiency standards, exceeding those of the popular LEED rating system. Additionally, TCI Lane Ranch will exceed ENERGY STAR compliance on 100% of its homes
